Facts

  • Neonates have no symbionts. Juveniles only ingested the geen alga Platymonas convoluta (Volvocaceae) as symbiont; the algae take 2-3 d to increase amd migrate throught the body without thecae and in 15-20 d the animal is uniformly green (Ref: Doug1983)
